This image was very famous in the early cinema era. The character was also used in a recent series called  The Mighty Boosh.

This is the work of Geroges Melies, he was one of the top pioneers of early cinema. This is one of his longest and most famous stop motion films.

I enjoyed the movie i think because it old fashioned and really shows how stop motion can be used. I like the black and white filming because it lets the whole screen run a bit smoother because it doesnt pick up every little detail. I think i would like to incorporate black and white/grey into my animation.

This is the first ever stop motion film made, it was called 'Matches: An Appeal' which was created in 1899 by Arthur Melbourne Cooper.
